Lt. Col. Steve Russell, author of “We Got Him!” will be a keynote speaker for the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans on Saturday, June 18 at 12:50pm CT.

“We are so pleased to have someone of Lt. Col. Russell’s stature to provide inspiration and insight for our conference,” said RLC President and CEO Charlie Davis.

Lt. Col. Russell was the commander of the battalion that played a major role in the capture of Saddam Hussein. He served 21 years in the U.S. Army as an infantry officer until his retirement in 2006. Currently, he serves as an Oklahoma State Senator.

“It will be an honor to address the conference and relate to those concerned with the vision of our nation,” said Russell.

Last month, Russell was an exclusive guest on the popular Fox News Network show, “Huckabee.” He was also a special guest on “Fox and Friends” weekend show the next morning. Russell has been on a whirlwind campaign of national media interviews, most recently on KNUS AM Radio in Colorado, with host Ross Kaminsky.

Russell is also chairman and founder of Vets4Victory, a nonpartisan organization established by combat veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Russell’s book about the hunt and capture of Saddam Hussein has received praise from the highest levels. General Raymond T. Odierno said in the foreword: “It is an honor for me to introduce this personal memoir by one of the finest battalion commanders with whom I have served. His story captures the human dimension of this awful thing we call war…”

Copies of the book, “We Got Him!” are available for purchase on www.vets4victory.com or www.wegothim.us.

Ted Cruz, a proven conservative Senate candidate in Texas gaining national attention, will address RLC on Thursday afternoon at 3:45 PM CT.

Conservative columnist George Will’s nationally syndicated column this week is entirely focused on Cruz, the former Solicitor General of Texas. In a piece entitled “As Good as It Gets,” Will wrote: “For conservatives seeking reinforcements for Washington’s too-limited number of limited-government constitutionalists, it can hardly get better than this…”

Cruz was also recently highlighted in an interview on Fox Business and The Daily Caller in a piece entitled “Ted Cruz: Cuban Ivy League Tea Partier for Senate.”

Conservatives in Texas and nationally have been uniting around the campaign. Cruz has been endorsed by Club for Growth PAC, FreedomWorks PAC, Erick Erickson of Redstate.com, Sen. Mike Lee, Mark Levin, Madison Project, Ed Meese and others.

Over the past decade, Cruz has a proven record of fighting for conservative principles and winning on a national level. In addition, Cruz has a compelling personal story—his father escaped oppression in Cuba penniless and worked hard to achieve the American Dream.

ANGA to Host “Fueling Prosperity and Enhancing National Security” Panel

America’s Natural Gas Alliance (ANGA) will host leading energy and national security experts in highlighting the national, economic, and energy security benefits of natural gas at the 2011 Republican Leadership Conference and Reagan Centennial Celebration.  ANGA represents 30 of the largest independent natural gas exploration and production companies in the United States.

As we struggle to combat rising gasoline prices, we must recognize the vast potential natural gas offers as a fuel source. Natural gas costs on average one-third less than conventional gasoline at the pump.  By capitalizing on the abundance of domestic natural gas we can offer a substantial offset to our nation’s dangerous habit of buying oil from unstable regions of the world.

The panel will be moderated by former Republican National Committee Chairman and former Counselor to President George W. Bush Ed Gillespie and will take place on the main stage at RLC on Friday, June 17 at 1:15PM.

Leading authorities in energy and national security will join Ed in discussing the critical need to safeguard our nation and reduce our dependence on energy from volatile countries through increased utilization of clean, abundant, American natural gas.

Moderator

  • Ed Gillespie – Former RNC Chairman and Former Counselor to President George W. Bush

Panelists

  • Steven Mueller – President and Chief Executive Officer of Southwestern Energy
  • Juan Zarate –  Senior Advisor at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and Former Deputy National Security Advisor on Combating Terrorism
  • Amy Myers Jaffe – Wallace Wilson Fellow in Energy Studies and Director of the Energy Forum at the Baker Institute at Rice University

It’s not too late to register and attend this important panel with Ed Gillespie at the 2011 Republican Leadership Conference.
